Pierce County Charter Commissioner | Former Union Laborer | Artist | Former WSU Rower
I’m a lifelong Washingtonian, formerunion laborer, public servant, and creative leader dedicated to strengthening democracy at the local level.
I was raised in Orting, Washington, in a community where neighbors show up for one another and hard work is a shared value. I come from a multi-generational building trades family - a legacy rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and pride in honest work.
I attended Washington State University, where I competed as a collegiate rower. The discipline, endurance, and teamwork required in rowing continue to inform my leadership style: steady under pressure, collaborative in approach, and focused on long-term results.
I’m a former member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, serving with both LiUNA Local 242 and LiUNA Local 252. My time in the building trades shaped my deep respect for working families and reinforced my belief that government must work as hard as the people it represents.
Today, I serve as a Pierce County Charter Commissioner, helping guide how county government functions and working to ensure it remains transparent, accountable, and responsive to residents. I believe strong governance starts with clear systems, ethical leadership, and meaningful public participation.
In addition to my public service and labor background, I’m also an artist. My creative work reflects my belief that communities thrive when expression, dialogue, and thoughtful design are part of civic life. I bring that same attention to detail and care to my work in government.
My leadership is rooted in small-town values, strengthened by union experience, shaped by teamwork, and guided by integrity. I believe Pierce County works best when its government reflects the voices, labor, and aspirations of its people.
